Monster Hunter (2020) Movie Review

Paul WS Anderson hit the mark with Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon, and with Monster Hunter (2020), he has done it again. The sound effects and the special effects are out of this world. The creature designs are just what they should be in a movie like this. The action scenes are bloody brilliant and the environment is spectacular. The acting and the emotions are good and powerful.

The cast is extremely suitable for the film: Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa and Ron Perlman. The writing is straightforward in the best way possible and the atmosphere is enjoyable in it’s own way. All of the scenes have always something entertaining to offer and the characters personalities are very well developed. The costumes and the make-up are very well done and pleasurable. The story has a good flow and it’s simple and greatly functional. The connection between Artemis played by Milla Jovovich and Hunter played by Tony Jaa is believable, smooth and engaging.

As a whole Monster hunter is a true masterpiece, one of the best movies i have ever seen so far in my life and clearly and easily one of the finest films by Paul W.S. Anderson in recent years. So i can beyond easily and beyond highly recommend it. I must mention that when I saw the first trailer of this film, I smelled, felt and saw that Monster Hunter is gonna be a true masterpiece and I was right. Go, watch and make your own conclusions.

Even without a unique storyline and overall general predictability, Monster Hunter is a satisfying no-brainer of an action extravaganza.

The Rating: 4 out of 5.
